In the studio, Kristi Lee was joined by Tim and Tiffany Stoner of Familyprint in celebration of Memorial Day. As unique as a fingerprint, each family survives and thrives differently under challenging circumstances.  Army Reservist and Bronze Star recipient Lt Col Timothy Stoner, commander of Indiana's first Black Hawk unit in Iraq, and his wife transformed their experience of his deployment into the catalyst for efforts to pay it forward.  Trading wingtips for combat boots and managing four children under the age of six, they turned difficulty into an experience of graciousness, growth and gratitude. On the podcast, they share their personal account of what it was like to be a military family during a time of war.

After a jagged military path that left him put him rare ground as not only an Airborne Ranger but an Aviator, Tim describes when he was deployed to Iraq the overwhelming sense of accountability to the soldiers under his care. He not only had close relationships with the soldiers, but their spouses, parents and children.

He describes Medevac as the last Hail Mary on the battlefield, and discusses the ethical choices Medevac teams face when saving U.S. soldiers, and even the enemy. He suggests the transition on the 'pain-healing' side of the equation was a good place to be after years being enlisted in the infantry.

Tim and Tiffany Stoner published a book and launched a nonprofit called FamilyPrint. It is a coffee-table book which includes amazing images that Nathaniel Edmunds Photographycaptured during Tim's deployment to Iraq.  Since the launch, they have donated over $30K benefiting children with a deployed parent.

The Month of May in Indianapolis is exciting. But no one can deny that this year, with the 100th Anniversary, the engines are roaring even more loudly. If you are a race fan, you must listen in with Kristi Lee and Indianapolis Motor Speedway President, Doug Boles.

Doug has an extreme passion for the sport, and has been a lifelong fan of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Like many, that passion grew as a young boy, when he visited the Speedway with his father. With Kristi, he shares some of his favorite Indy 500 memories, his racing hero, and his prized memorabilia.

Doug lends some inside information on what his team is doing to make the 100th running even more spectacular, and some of the outlandish stunts that are being done to promote the IMS, such as jumping out of airplanes, pulling an Olympic skier around a yard of bricks, and camping out in a tent to promote the camping opportunities at the Speedway.

Doug is very active on Twitter. If you're a fan, he is a great guy to
follow because he's always posting updates on the changes and exciting things that are happening leading up to the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500.

You won't have to be a wine connoisseur to thoroughly enjoy this podcast with one of Indiana's most polarizing, young sommelier's. His colorful commentary on spirits, wine, and travel are enlightening.

Erase whatever picture you have in your mind of what a sommelier looks like. Arthur Black is the opposite, in his tight, black t-shirt, tattooed arms, man-bun, and Buddhist necklace. He is the Corporate Wine and Spirits Sales Manager for RNDC, a leading national wholesaler of fine wine and spirits.

In addition to his role at RNDC, Arthur is a member of the Society of Wine Educators, a Certified Specialist of Wine, a Certified Spanish Wine Educator, a Certified French Wine Educator, a Certified Sake Specialist, Certified Spirits Specialist, Advanced Sommelier, Level 1 Cicerone, Advanced Level III through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, a wine, beer and spirits writer and has lectured and taught at copious venues and several universities. As an active educator in the American sommelier community, Arthur has competed in many sommelier competitions, winning the honorable Best Young Sommelier in America Championship.

His motto, "The customer is always right." So, if someone wants to sit down with Proseco and pair it with salt & vinegar chips then they should do so. But he is clear on his opinion about one type of person..."cork sniffers are ass holes!"

In 2015, Arthur created and is the current president of the non-profit, the Indiana Craft beverage Association, a promotional body dedicated to engaging both trade and consumers to increase quality beverage appreciation and Indiana beverage industry sustainability. Arthur is also the creator and organizer of Indiana’s first cocktail festival, Mixture – An Indianapolis Cocktail Tour, which experienced a successful first year in the summer of 2015.

Join IndyMixture on September 16-17. It is a two-day Cocktail Tour, featuring live music, food, beer, cocktails, and booze. The fun begins along Georgia Street then travels to Mass Ave, Fletcher Place, and Fountain Square for Indy’s best bartenders to tempt you with samples of their wares.

Just like Kristi Lee is taking a break from traditional radio, Greg Ballard was in the studio discussing what keeps him busy after serving in public office for eight years as Mayor. Not only is he an avid reader but he loves to cycle along some of the very trails and bike pathways he put in place during his time as Mayor. He feels passionately about sustainable energy particularly as it pertains to transportation. In fact, he is writing a book that he hopes to have published by 2017.

Mayor Ballard shared with Kristi Lee, and her co-cost, Tiffany Stoner, some of his favorite memories as Mayor. Superbowl XLVI was certainly on top of that list. And, he thinks he had something to do with the weather!

From his completely unplanned run for Mayor to his 23 years in the Marines, you will find Greg Ballard a great guy. And, we just might find him in office again after a much deserved break.

Joining Kristi Lee on Uniterrupted is full-time stand-up comic, Costaki Economopoulos. Kristi has always considered him a smart persons comic. In fact, she mentions that she feels like she should take a history class before going to see one of his shows. Growing up as a 'cul-de-sac-kid', he was a match and chess whiz which then led him to get a Master's Degree in Political Science. However, stand up comedy was the only thing he really loved.

He has combined his love of comedy with his equal love for fantasy football. In fact, you can catch his Podcast called Quick Snaps on iTunes or you can follow one of his leagues called "Megatrondemopolis."

He and Kristi share daughters both named Ava. He explains what it is like to raise a child in NYC understanding there are some significant benefits to urban-dwelling. Costaki jokes that all comics should get divorced because then you can book your gigs when you aren't parenting. He absolutely loves spending time off the road with his Ava.

Oh...and his hidden talent? You will have to listen in.

Comedian Jen Kober, on her recent trip to the Midwest stopped in for a wildly personal visit with Kristi Lee. She talked about her tour, working with Kevin Hart, and her recent appearances on The Mindy Project and Anger Management.

Jen wakes and bakes but unlike most, she gets a lot of shit done. Her weed even gets delivered to her front door in California. Her favorite flavors...Alaskan Thunder Fuck Week and another actually called Charlie Sheen!

She was candid that her life on the road is not conducive to personal relationships but definitely has a clear and distinct type of woman she is attracted to. Dark hair. Dark eyes. And Boobs!

Kristi, always with a kind gesture, brought Jen a half eaten box of her favorite Samoas Girl Scout Cookie.

Listen in for more of this banter between two powerhouse comedians.

Chris Bowers has it all...well he has all he needs which was an important lesson to learn in his 40s. After throwing most of his belongings away in a move, he now owns two pairs of shoes, hasn't eaten a vegetable or fruit since 1996 and hasn't been sick in 15 years (of course, that is not including the occasional hang over). According to Chris, he lives a perfectly happy vagabond life.

Kristi Lee calls the owner and dear friend of Morty's Comedy Club, one-of-a-kind. He not only brings exceptional comedy to Indiana but he is a comic himself, and more importantly a motivation speaker for kids. He encourages kids to be happy with who they are, and realize the skills they can bring to the world. He loves Millennials because they aren't racist, they aren't homophobic, and while they might not be as wealthy as their parents, they'll be happier in the future.

He doesn't fear anything which is a great lesson for both kids and comics. In fact, he and Kristi discussed the art of getting to the best jokes. The first one you write will be the easy one and get a few laughs but won't be original. The second joke will be an improvement, but after the third is where originality really sets in.

You can catch Chris and his entourage of comics, along with many famous guests, at his new Morty's location: 3824 East 82nd Street, Indianapolis.

Wondering what your favorite news gal has been up to since the new year rolled around and her voice was strangely absent on your way to work? Well, this time Kristi Lee won't be interrupted. She is now UNINTERRUPTED. In fact, she is starting out her new podcast series being real and raw about her new path.

2016 catapulted her into unexpected and uncharted territory after being an integral part of the Bob & Tom Show for 27 years. They were more than just co-workers and morning comrades but family. The abrupt change didn't come without significant pain and grief, which she discusses openly in her first podcast with longtime friend, Dr. Will, who has a colorful and eclectic background being not only an ordained minister but a standup comedian.

Kristi Lee's podcast will begin April 5th under the podcast community of Dr. Will's Neighborhood. Her podcasts will include many special celebrity guests, real people talking about real issues, fun newsworthy stories, and just anything she wants. But this time...she decides.

To leave you with a teaser, Kristi Lee said, "I should have just had Tom's baby....the severance package is better."

Apr 2, 2016
