Our favorite sommelier is back! This time Arthur is talking holiday drinks. Did you know that champagne has to come from France? Most of the “bubbles” found on store shelves in America is of the sparkling wine variety. Find out which are Arthur's favorites.

The other big drink now is bourbon. We talk bourbon and more bourbon. We also discuss expensive wine, I mean very expensive wine. Is it worth the price? What was the most expensive bottle Arthur has ever shared?

And we can't talk drinks without talking hangovers. Are there any good hangover cures? We find out. Also Arthur and restaurateur Ed Rudisell started their own podcast called Shift Drink. Their show has prompted some rather unusual travels to places like Amsterdam, Paris, and Alsace France.

I would be remiss if I didn't say Arthur has some amazing and unbelievable tales from his adventures. Cheers to a wonderful Holiday Season! Enjoy!

Ooh that voice so distinct and smooth! World renowned motivational and business speaker Scott McKain is my guest this week. Scott has a remarkable ability to captivate and motivate anyone.

With a passion for business and bestselling books to back him up, Scott wows crowds with his dynamic presentations. We learn how he has become one of the best in the business. With a surprising start in not only radio but Future Farmers of America or FFA. As the state of Indiana FFA chapter president he took to the stage giving speeches all over the country.

After college hear how Scott met the famed film director Werner Hertzog. Hertzog was so impressed he asked Scott to play a villain in the movie “Stroszek”. Which was named one of the 50 great movies in the history of cinema by film critic Roger Ebert.

That role lead to a syndicated entertainment segment on 80 television stations for a decade and a stint as an anchorman for a CBS affiliate.

And then came the speeches, 7 books, and the founder and owner of several businesses.

Scott shares with us how to make your business stand out and some of the tricks to breaking into the speaking world. Are you one of the millions who suffer from public speaking? Well, Scott has help for you too!

A gifted storyteller Scott shares some amazing tales with us. Like his chance meeting with a taxi driver in Jacksonville, FL and the hunt for cuff links on a Sunday night at closing time. Both are not to be missed.

I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to sit down with Mr. McKain and learn some tips from the best of the best. I am pretty sure he will be as informative and helpful to you as well.

I hate to break this to some of you but Donnie Baker isn’t real. There I said it! He is however, the brainchild of the talented stand up comic and professional broadcaster, Ron Sexton.

On the podcast we find out how Ron began his career. He didn’t just jump into calling The Bob and Tom Show with character voices. He got a start very early in middle school doing sports reports for the Franklin Central High School radio station in Indianapolis. He knew pretty quickly that radio was something he wanted to pursue.

Ron continued to follow his passion while attending Butler University mainly doing play by play and sports reporting. Which led him to covering sports for an Indianapolis TV station. He quickly learned that TV wasn’t his thing and took a job with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. It would be an executive position in the broadcast department complete with a company car and steady employment.

His suit wearing days were numbered though when he was approached by Indy sports legend Mark Patrick. Mark offered Ron a full time job that would put him back “on the air” for Fox Sports Radio. A show that ended up being ahead of its time featuring a heavy dose of comedy over hard hitting sports.

After a 3 year run the program ended and that’s when Ron started to call into The Bob and Tom Show. His impressions are many, Tony Soprano, Charles Barkley, Jim Rome, Morgan Freeman the list goes on and on. Along with these famous impressions Ron has created the long running characters, Kenny Tarmac, Floyd the Trucker and of course Donnie Baker.

We talk about how Donnie evolved on the show, the creation of his band the Pork Pistols, and his new found fame on the internet. My favorite segment is when we talk about comedic heroes. Especially the late great Tim Wilson! Ron has some special memories to share about this wonderful comedian. (many in Tim’s voice which Ron has DOWN).

Things you also learn on this episode: Ron is an excellent high school baseball coach. He LOVES music and would like to open for a famous rock star! And yes, he has a hidden talent! All you have to do is listen to find out. State Law!

Drew Hastings’ road to politics was gravel and a bit bumpy. After spending 13 years in Hollywood he yearned for a less hectic life. He returned to Ohio were he had spent his formative years. But instead of a big city like Cincinnati or Cleveland he decided to buy a small farm in rural Hillsboro.

Determined to make his town more vibrant he ran for mayor. And to the surprise of many was actually elected. This tall, well dressed man with the rock n roll hair proved to be quite a competent leader.

During his tenure his sleepy little town has been spruced up and made financial more sound. However, after finishing his second term he will not seek a third. We find out why and how the last years in office have changed him.

In this hodgepodge of a podcast we jump around from his start in comedy to women’s rights and from polo to paintball. (You HAVE to listen it will make sense.) Drew also gets a bit serious while discussing his marriage of almost 4 years and coming to terms with his own death.

Sprinkled amongst his stories of the shredding business that got out of hand and the polo mallet earring he used to wear we meander into technology. What is it like raising a child in this ever changing fast paced world? We even hear from my social media director/promotions person Katy who’s approach to technology and social media is a complete 180 from mine or Drew’s.

Other tidbits: discover what career Drew really wanted, the name of his national silver medal paintball team, and what’s next for this smart talented mayor.

Like many artists he is anxious to get back at being creative 24 - 7 with many projects in the works. Including, a book, storytelling tour and more.

Since the early 80’s Ace Cosby has been a staple in the lives of many rock and roll radio fans. He dominated the airwaves in central Indiana for over 30 years.

Not only was he an amazing radio air personality, music director and assistant program director he was a great friend to many of the classic rock bands of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Including; Kiss, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Quiet Riot, Styx and so many more. And on top of all that he has been one of my dearest friends.

Not only did he help me get my job at WFBQ (which led me eventually to Bob and Tom) but we have shared more adventures than should be allowed in a lifetime. Like the time we went to the Playboy Club in Lansing Michigan with Kiss members, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Bruce Kulick. Or when I played house mom to Ace Cosby and Off Your Rocker the band that would practice in my basement and infuriate all of my neighbors. Twice drawing a visit from the police.

But the more interesting stories are all Ace’s. Learn who is the nicest guy or gal in rock and roll. Find out how Ace broke into the radio business. His encounter with Michael Bolton that in a way actually effected my life. His “date” with a Playboy playmate that came back to haunt him later in life. The almost proposal involving a Jon Bon Jovi concert in Atlanta.

Find out what it is like to hang with the Jack Blades of Nightranger and Tommy Shaw of Styx. And then to have your whole world come crashing down with a massive corporate radio house cleaning.

Ace has lived quite the life and thanks to Tom of The Bob and Tom Show (who makes a brief appearance on this podcast) he is back for round two. Ace is the definition of a legend and we are damn happy to have him back on the air where he belongs!

“When was the last time you did something for the first time? “

I heard those words for the first time in a documentary at the Heartland Film Festival entitled “Live Adventurously” featuring Kate Nolan and her wife Danielle Wolter-Nolan. Together they own and run a company called DNK Presents which takes everyday folks on the adventures of a lifetime. From couples trips to discover the dinosaur tracks in Moab Utah, to an 8 mile trek down into the South rim of the Grand Canyon into the Havasupai Indian Reservation, to a yoga retreat in Guatemala. Kate and Danielle do it all.

Not only do they work for companies and retreats but they have also taken to helping others through their women’s adventure contest. This contest was the basis for the documentary that I stumbled on and cannot forget.

Four women were chosen from a group of nominations for a 4 day backcountry adventure. All of the women have a story and they all finished the weekend much stronger than they started both mentally and physically. This first contest started in 2016 and has now become an annual event. The 2017 adventure is being worked into a feature film and nominations for the 2018 adventure begin on January 1st.

Kate and Danielle share their top thrills, the things they WILL NOT do and adventures yet to be discovered. These two could motivate even this “set in her ways” gal to get off the couch and onto a mountain bike. Well, maybe…

This Halloween I decided to revisit the Friday the 13th with the ultimate Jason, Kane Hodder. I co-hosted this episode with Josh Arnold.

Before I bring Jason back from the dead, I talk with my producer, Brad Shoemaker, about a new venture he is working on called the "Don't Flinch" podcast. Think of it like the old 30s and 40s radio horror dramas. Find out the multiple ways you can participate.

Don't Flinch is looking to raise funds to buy scripts, pay for voice talent, and some new equipment for sound design work. Their first episode is online now. We would love it if you had a few dollars you wanted to throw at this project to help Independent artists get their stories told.

If you're the creative type and think you can write a good script, you can submit your script on the Don't Flinch website.

Now back to Kane, the ultimate Jason Voorhees.

I am quick to admit I have never seen a Friday the 13th movie. However, that didn’t stop me from sitting down with the man, who many feel is the best actor to ever portray Jason Voorhees, Kane Hodder. For this episode I brought along my cohort and horror movie expert Josh Arnold to share his expertise.

Kane’s story is compelling, from a childhood where his teen years were spent on the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. Then becoming a stuntman in Hollywood and working on shows like Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazard and too many movies to list. (Safe to say if a movie had action in it, Kane was one of the stuntmen.)

Early in his stunt career he suffered a major burn injury over 50% of his body which had an incredible impact on his life. He now does work with burn centers across the country to help others. And of course, his path would eventually lead to acting. Fans don’t worry we do talk horror and movies and his run in the successful Friday the 13th Series. (This is where I start getting scared….)
He also touches on other famous “killers” he has played. And recently Kane was asked to reprise his role as Jason for the Friday the 13 video game. It’s a fascinating process to do motion capture for a game. And lets not forget he is also a part of a paranormal group called The Hollywood Ghost Hunters. Does he really believe in ghosts? We not only find out the answer to that question but also to what scares him. And learn about his latest film, a horror comedy, called “An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)”. The premise of which is quite funny if not a bit unsettling for a horror novice like me.

I started out scared of Jason and ended up in awe of Kane! Enjoy!

Let’s face it cancer SUCKS! In one way or another we have all been effected by this horrible disease. My guest this week has lived through some of the scariest words ever uttered: “you have cancer”. Vince Todd was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease (a blood cancer) at the tender age of 26. He shares with us what it was like to hear his diagnosis and enduring the 7 months of chemotherapy that followed. Halfway through the treatment he was gifted Lance Armstrong's book and became inspired to help others like Lance did with his LIVESTRONG foundation. So, he and his wife Cindy threw a party hoping to raise 10,000 dollars. They called on family and friends and brought in close to 45,000 dollars that first year! The Heroes Foundation was born and now they annual “beer kegger” has turned into a 700+ gala and 4 other annual events. This years “An Evening With Heroes” will be held on January 20th 2018 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The special guest speakers is Samantha Smith, widow of Butler basketball standout Andrew Smith who lost his battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in early 2016. Money raised will help in three areas, Research, Prevention and Support. So dress up, get a babysitter and make it a weekend getaway to help others. Vince is a 17 year survivor and proving that cancer doesn't always win. In fact sometimes it is the reason to throw a really awesome party.

We talk how he began his radio career, what led him to LA for comedy and voiceover work, his entrance to the Bob & Tom Show, a couple of funny stories from some Bob & Tom trips and also his latest comedy tour "Dugan's Aren't Losers".

We hope you enjoy the show.

I don’t know about you but I have been in a bit of a funk lately. When that happens I call on Dr. Will Miller! Sit in on my “free” session. We discuss the horrible tragedies that have been occurring nationwide. How do we cope with “bad news” that is forced upon us from every angle? His answer, relationships. We can not hope to be anxiety free without the help of friends and family. And in some cases your friends are your family. Never take that for granted and surround yourself with your “village”. Set down your devices and spend some quality time with the ones you love. It can work wonders to relieve anxiety and the feeling of isolation. We also dip into talking about death. Not a ha ha subject but one that all of us will face. I have a great deal of trouble dealing with this issue. Sound like you? Let Dr. Will help. We finish up with a wonderful metaphor for life using the PBS series Downton Abbey as a model. I felt so much better after our visit. I hope you do as well.

You may know him from The Late Show with David Letterman where Bill Scheft served as a writer for 24 years. However, there is much more to this brilliant former stand up comedian. I spoke with Bill recently via Skype from his home in NYC and we had a lot to catch up on. Since his last visit on The Bob and Tom Show Bill had lost his job following Letterman’s retirement. An even bigger blow was dealt when his wife, a pioneering figure amongst female comics, Adrianne Tolsch died after a long illness. We start the show talking about these two important topics. And not without a few laughs even when the subject is far from funny. Dealing with grief is such an individual process and Bill is gracious enough to share how he is coping. I can give you a hint. He is blessed with a wonderful support group including friends and family. Oh and the 29 yr old niece who now shares his apartment complete with a pet bunny named Albert. (yes there is a story there)

The novelist, Bill Scheft announces his latest project: “Is It Everything I Said”, Tommy Dash Apologizes. A collection of installments featuring a fictionalized stand up comic named Tommy Dash. Stories based on real situations either he or other comedians have encountered in their careers. Then we discuss music. His band The Truants performs in and around NYC playing British Invasion music and nothing after 1967. They DO NOT play “Do the Freddy” by Freddy and the Dreamers. (Take that Tom Griswold!) And they are available for your private party! Find out more at thetruantslive.com. Bill shares a great Paul McCartney story and touring with the band Tower of Power. Bill is now working on 2 projects for satellite radio including a podcast interviewing comics about relationships. I have been blessed in my life to meet amazingly talented people and Bill Scheft is at the top of the list. Enjoy!

In between two shows, we were able to catch up with Comedian Greg Hahn, a frequent guest on The BOB & TOM Show and is a completely unique comedian. His energy is notorious. A former Marine, we talk about what it was like coming from military life to become a comic. The steps in between, some of his jobs and what made him realize he could do this. We even delve into his friendship with Daniel Tosh (Tosh.0) and more.

Check out Greg Hahn in person, you won't be disappointed.

I recently had the opportunity to drag out the microphones on a Girls Night Out. 7 of my best girlfriends and I met up at a local Mexican restaurant. After, several rounds of margaritas the inhibitions were lowered and some pretty funny stories emerged. (and yes we took Uber-DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE) We discuss, sex, how some met their husbands, dating at a certain age, and drunken antics. Find out which of my friends has great t*ts. Yes, we refer to them a lot. Frankly this show is a glimpse into what women talk about when men aren’t around and they have had one too many. I hope you enjoy!

Ron Capps is the current NHRA FC World Champion in the NAPA Auto Parts Dodge Charger R/T! A crown that eluded him 4 times before 2016. One of the only titles he has still not claimed is the US Nationals Title. This year, 2017, I sat down with Ron in the NAPA Auto Parts trailer in the midsts of his very busy pit and we talk about “the big one”. Even with a World championship under his belt, he wants Indy! Ron shares his love of a sport he was literally born into. Dad was a driver and worked on cars not only for himself but friends. Ron grew up hanging with his Dad and helped to work on cars before he ever became a driver. If you have never been to a drag race in person it is something to experience. Even as a spectator you can feel the power. The ground shakes, the air smells of burning nitro and the sound! For a little under 4 secs your heart skips a beat and you hold your breath. If you are the driver its magnified by throwing in G forces. 6 g’s on the start and 7 to 8 g’s when the shoot pops out to help stop you. Ron walks us threw that feeling and what happens when your parachute doesn't deploy. A scary scenario that happened as last years US Nationals. We also find out about Ron’s love for other forms of racing, heroes, UFC fighting and Rock n Roll. When we recorded this interview it was the Saturday of race weekend. On Monday afternoon Ron lost in the Final Round at Lucas Oil Raceway at the 2017 US Nationals to J.R. Todd by .026th of a second. We will be watching and cheering for Ron the rest of the season as the Countdown to the Championship begins…

Comedienne Ms Pat has lived a life most of us cannot even fathom. She grew up in Georgia at the height of the crack epidemic with an alcoholic mother and a father who was not around. Sexually abused as a child, pregnant at the age of 13 and the mother of two by 15. Pat learned quickly that life on the streets is not what she wanted for her kids. Especially after being shot by her babies daddy. Determined to find a better life she received her GED. And with the encouragement of her case worker on Bill Clinton’s Welfare to Work program attended an open mic. She found she could make people laugh with her amazing stories. She also met and married her current husband who has stood by her since. We chat about her life and her new book, Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat: Patricia Williams.

Pat shares with us her families reaction to the book, the power of forgiveness, threats us to a tale that’s not in the book and her favorite pro wrestler growing up! We also learn how a couple of adults who crossed her path as a child played an important role in Pat breaking the cycle of poverty and living in the “hood”. It is not surprising that this powerful woman is now seeing the success she so deserves.

Boxing vs MMA! We preview the upcoming Floyd Mayweather - Conor McGregor fight with former heavyweight champ Lamon Brewster and his business partner John King. Brewster and King met when both were fighting in the 1991 National Golden Gloves.

While King went into the business side of things Lamon continued to box. He won his WBO title in a stunning upset over Wladimir Klitschko on April 10th 2004. Relive that monumental fight through the Champs eyes. We talk about how his life changed once he had the title and what it took to defend said title.

Lamont suffered a detached retina in the first minute of the first round in a unanimous decision loss to Sergei Liakhovich on April 1st 2006. He went on to fight again but received further damage to his eye contributing to his retirement in 2011. He also recounts the time he attended a reunion of all Heavyweight champions, except George Foreman and Muhammad Ali, at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood Florida.

Could these exceptional athletes leave it in the ring? Find out. And we dive into the old adage, sex or no sex before a fight. Lamon Brewster continues to inspire and remain a positive influence on the next generation of boxers.

(and he does pick of winner of the big fight!)

This former MMA Champion has now become a champion for others. Chris fills us in on a career that began in 1993 as a UFC fighter and also included a stint in boxing. A journey that earned him multiple championships and honors. Find out what it takes to compete at this level.

Also Chris compares the two disciplines and offers one strong opinion on how to make them better. We also discover that at one point he tried his hand at politics. He was not successful at the polls but he certainly learned a lot about the political process.

When he is not fighting Chris is a full time firefighter. A job he loves right down to the cooking. You will also find Mr. Lytle, speaking at schools in honor of the Chris Lytle Foundation an anti-bullying foundation, training the new up and coming stars in the world of the UFC and he has teamed up with Pat McAfee and Barstool Heartland with his MMA 2 minute drill. AND he also works with Todd McComas also of Barstool on a podcast called “Behind the Badge”. I am tired just writing this paragraph.

Throw in a wonderful wife and 4 children and you have one very active, interesting, and wonderful human being. Chris “Lights Out” Lytle is a special person with an inspiring message. Let him inspire you!

I am back… with radio sports host and reporter for the IndyCar Series, Jake Query.

Jake is one half of the Query and Schultz show which is heard weekdays from 3p-7p on the iHeart Radio app or if you live near the Indianapolis area, Fox Sports 97.5 and WNDE 1260. Wether he is hosting his show or covering the Indy 500 Jake really stands out.

His knowledge of sports is vast and more importantly entertaining. Jake has a memory unlike anyone I have ever known and it’s not just full of sports stats. No, Jake is well versed on history, crime, presidents, cemeteries and more.

He also fosters a love for his hometown, Indianapolis, that is admirable. In fact, if he were to select his own tombstone it would read, "Here lies a man who loved life as much as he loved the city he lived in". I wouldn’t be surprised if someday he isn't mayor! And although a born and raised Hoosier, he travels over 500 miles one way to see his favorite college football team the Clemson Tigers every fall.

We cover these topics and more on the show this week. I have had the pleasure of knowing many professional broadcasters, Jake is on of the most fascinating.

Enjoy!

While Kristi is back from vacation, I, her humble producer, am not. Since I am the cause of this week's episode not being new, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite throwback episodes where we talk with Jimmy 'Mad Dog' Matis.

It's one of my favorites because I worked with Jimmy for 11 years at Q95 and he has a long history with the Bob and Tom Show. Plus, along with the Bob episodes, it's another sneak behind the curtains of one of the longest running morning shows in America.

Ron Jeremy the #1 Porn Star of All Time joins me this week. Ron’s career in adult cinema began in 1978 and he continues to work in the business today. One of those appearances happens on July 15th and 16th 2017 at the Ponderosa Sun Club in Roselawn In. Ron, along with other celebrities, are part of the annual Nudes a Poppin’ event. The top male and female adult entertainers from across the country compete for some big prize money and coveted titles. In case you would like to attend, Ron has all the details.

Then we get into a discussion on how some things have changed in the adult film industry since his early days. The word “bukkake” is brought up again on my show. Find out why. Hear what Ron is “up” to at this point in his career. (I will give you a hint to one of the latest ventures, “virtual reality”). He shares with us a couple of movie ideas he has had for quite sometime. I assure you they are very unique!

And did you know that he appears in Kid Rock’s video for Cowboy playing piano? Yes, music is also important to Mr. Jeremy. He plays not only piano but violin and harmonica.

And probably the biggest surprise to me was finding out his mom was a spy for the USA in World War II. That’s not the only war hero in Ron’s family. We learn about two Purple Hearts bestowed on his relatives. Yes we can talk seriously for a few moments then it swings back to porn. We find out our “porn names” using the first pet - street you grew up on formula. Who is the most famous person to say hi to him? Has he shook hands with a President or Presidents? What turns him on? Does he use ED drugs? Answers to these questions and more with the “Hedgehog” himself, Ron Jeremy.

John Evans began comedy in Tulsa Oklahoma back in 1996. Since that first open mic he moved to Minneapolis, LA, and Pittsburgh. Along the way he has had countless comedy club dates, performed on Live at Gotham and was a semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. However, his biggest stage is the one he stepped onto about 11 months ago when he decided to get sober. We discuss this life changing moment and how his career and relationships were effected.

He shares an especially private moment that occurred when he ran across letters his father had sent his mother while stationed in Vietnam. And how he is now a better father to his own two sons. John also talks about growing up in the 70’s (his favorite era) and his love of thrifting. A love that led him to open his own vintage store in Pittsburgh for a time.

With a new found sobriety and a wealth of new material look for great things to come from John Evans! Enjoy our conversation and look for him on social media: @thriftstoreguy on Twitter and he is updating his website: JohnEvansComedian.com

Meet the newest member of the Bob and Tom Show family, Jeff Oskay! Jeff has worn many hats in his career, but the most important is that of DAD! If I haven't enticed you to listen yet we also talk comedy. Jeff is a stand up comic who not only writes for the Bob and Tom Show but also performs in comedy clubs across the country. And he has just added becoming the guy “behind the scenes” on our VIP video feed. This show has a little bit of everything and you might even end up with a dozen fresh eggs. Yum!

A self proclaimed “gypsy”, Karen is a marvelous Stand up comic, Paranormal Investigator, Tarot Card Reader, and Reiki Master. We talk about all of the above in this weeks podcast. I have never taken so many notes while talking to a guest. From being a cigarette girl in Vegas to stand up stages around the world and knowledge of the paranormal, Karen is simply fascinating. We learn about fairies, guardian angels, paranormal investigations, tarot card readings (mine included), demonology, reincarnation, reiki and more. Her belief in Jesus and why she thinks he hangs with Buddha. Karen also talks about her own podcast which she hosts with comedian Kira Soltanovich. The two read tarot cards for fellow comedians at Karen and Kira Can Read! This is one of my favorite podcasts to date. ENJOY!

After 4 years (it seemed like 1), my favorite employee of The Bob and Tom Show has decided to move on. Jeff Vibbert came to us as a kid fresh out of college with a dream. We hear about his aspirations and goals as an up and coming comedian who has taken a detour on that career path. Jeff is now working for ex-punter for the Indianapolis Colts Pat McAfee’s new venture at Barstool Sports. Jeff is a perfect fit for the hilarity and bro buddy of Barstool Heartland. He has already experienced his first trip to NYC along with hosting the online “The Things You Missed” segment of Barstool Heartland. Find how Jeff has landed on a show that is perfect for his talent, relive the famous “Beer Mile” segment, why he hates magicians and more. And don’t forget you can still hear Jeff on his own podcast “The Jeff Vibbert Podcast” and on Chick McGee’s podcast “The Chick McGee Show”.
